Mexico vs New Zealand gets heated: Video Assistant Referee has been a total embarrassment at the Confederations Cup in Russia. The backlash went nuclear after Gambian referee Bakary Gassama failed to issue a single red card following a vicious tackle from behind and the classic footballing scrum that followed. Seriously, what’s the point?

Mbappe and Donnarumma say yes to Real Madrid: Pro Real Madrid website Marca.com claim that a verbal agreement has been reached between the Club and the two teenage phenoms.  This team is already stacked, but they’ve never had a problem buying won’t they don’t need.

Doping scandal engulfs River Plate: It’s been a bad week for Los Millonarios. First Boca Juniors, their eternal rivals, were crowned league champions for the 32nd time. Then days later, River Plate were defending several players that tested positive for a banned substance during the Copa Libertadores, the continent’s premier club tournament. This could get ugly.

Germany’s B team is really good: The defending World Cup winners sent their reserves to the Confederations Cup and they’ll probably win the tournament. On Wednesday they drew with favorites Chile, South America’s back-to-back champions. We may be witnessing the next dynasty in international football.

James Rodriguez gets trolled by Cristiano Ronaldo: You know it’s a slow news week when James Rodriguez’s new look gets clicks. Welcome to the summer break.

  1. Hi
I saw the Mex Vs NZL match and I think it was all Mexico’s fault. They played so nasty and I agree that a couple of red cards should been shown. I Think NZL were dragged into the fight.

    • Both teams were lucky to finish with 11 men. And if Mexico were the aggressors, then the referee should’ve controlled the game better.
